Dolphin Academy
At Dolphin Academy, we are proud to be one
of the only facilities in the world that works with trained dolphins in the open sea. The dolphins reside on the premises of the Curaçao Sea Aquarium in four primary lagoons interconnected by secondary basins and canals. The lagoons are in contact with the ocean, allowing a constant flow of fresh seawater and numerous fish and invertebrate species.
Natural Habitat
Dolphin Academy consider an open ocean program to be symbolic of the cooperative relationship that the trainers have developed with the dolphins. As the dolphins accompany the trainers on daily excursions to the open sea, they are free to leave or choose to return ‘home’. At ‘home’, the dolphins enjoy a dynamic social environment in which individual dolphins exhibit natural patterns of association with one another.

Dolphin Snorkel
Experience the dolphin world!
Submerge yourself in the dolphins’ world and snorkel with these majestic animals in their natural lagoon! The Dolphin Snorkel is primarily focused on the underwater element of the experience of swimming with the dolphins. The dolphins will dive down alongside you and allow you to gently pet and interact with them underwater. Don’t forget to bring your waterproof camera because you will be able to take some beautiful underwater shots with the dolphins!

Open Water Dolphin Snorkel
An unforgettable snorkel experience!
Are you a competent active snorkeler looking for a unique experience in the open sea? Then the Open Water Dolphin Snorkel is the perfect activity for you! Free dive with dolphins in the ocean as they glide alongside you and you gently pet and interact with them underwater. Don’t forget to bring your underwater camera for some amazing shots!
- This experience includes free admission to Curaçao Sea Aquarium.
- This experience is not accessible for pregnant women.
- You need to be an experienced snorkeler and must be able to hold your breath for about 30 seconds.
- You are obligated to swim with fins and snorkel gear provided by Dolphin Academy.
To make sure you are proficient enough to join this experience, we always begin this activity with a trial snorkel with the dolphins inside our natural lagoon before we switch over to the open sea.
Open Water Dolphin Dive
Dive with the dolphins in the open water!
Immerse yourself in the dolphins’ world and observe their natural behavior in the ocean.The dolphins will leave their lagoon to meet the divers out at sea along one of the most beautiful coral reefs of Curaçao. What makes this experience so unique is the fact that the dolphins dictate how the experience progresses. Whether it’s chasing and catching fish on the reef, or interacting face-to-face with you, they call the shots

Dolphin Encounter
Always wanted to learn more about dolphins? Here’s your chance! During the Dolphin Encounter, you get to stand in the water on a submerged platform while interacting with one of the dolphins. While engaging the dolphin, you will learn all sorts of amazing things about this fascinating animal! Learn the life history of your dolphin, his or her age and “dolphinality”, how we care for them, and how we teach them! The perfect experience for both young and old!
