Renting a car is actually necessary in Curacao. It is also the best and easiest way to explore the island.

Renting a car at the airport of Curacao is very easy. There are eight official car rental companies. We recommend renting a car in advance via the internet.

There are also companies (MB Equipment) that deliver the car for you at the airport and pick it up again when you fly back home.

Personally, we have had good experiences with Verwoerd Autoverhuur and for a Pick-Up you should go to MB Equipment.

The tourist maps of most car rental companies do not contain many details. The advice is to download MAPS.ME in advance.
Maps.me is free to download and you can use the map of Curacao offline without data all the time.

When you go to Willemstad, the easiest way to park your car is in the Renaissance parking garage. Turn right at the roundabout at the Riffort and then take the first street on the left to the Renaissance hotel.

Petrol is not expensive in Curaçao, it costs about € 0.96 per litre
As you can see, you can have a full tank for a bargain price in Curaçao.
For an average of € 35,- you can have your tank completely full.

When you fill up, you must first go to the counter at the petrol station to pay in advance. State the amount you would like to spend and the pump number.
