De stranden van Westpunt zijn uitgeroepen tot de mooiste stranden van het eiland!
Curaçao, een prachtig eiland in het Caribisch gebied. Omgeven door helderblauw water. Een eiland waar je volop kunt genieten van zon, zee en strand. Om je op weg te helpen hebben we onze 10 mooiste stranden op een rijtje gezet. En nogmaals, ze bevinden zich allemaal op niet meer dan 30 minuten rijden van Villa Westpunt..
Playa Kalki naast Villa Westpunt
Playa Kalki is een prachtig strand. Het zand witter dan wit en de zee blauwer dan blauw. Het strand is niet alleen mooi boven water maar ook onder water.
Het rif bij Playa Kalki wordt "Alice in Wonderland" genoemd omdat het koraal in uitbundige vormen groeit en een landschap vormt als een onderzees doolhof.
Het wordt sterk aanbevolen voor duikers om de onderwaterwereld bij Playa Kalki te verkennen. Absoluut een pareltje tussen de stranden op Curaçao.
Playa Grandi 4 minuten
Playa Piskado, Playa Grandi of gewoon 'het vissersstrand'. Dit is het strand om zeeschildpadden te spotten. Aan het begin van de pier verkopen vissers hun vangst van de dag, wat ook een van de grootste redenen is dat er zoveel zeeschildpadden zijn. De vissers maken de vers gevangen vis voor de verkoop schoon en gooien de "restjes" in de zee.
Wil je je kansen vergroten om met de schildpadden te zwemmen? Zorg dat je vroeg in de ochtend bent!
Playa Forti 4 minuten
De gekleurde trap naar Play Forti. Je hoeft alleen maar bij de kliffen van Playa Forti (ook wel Playa Westpunt genoemd) te gaan staan en mensen springen van grote hoogte (12 meter) de turquoise zee in.
Geen fan van klifduiken?
Hier kun je ook heerlijk relaxen op het strand of iets eten of drinken bij de restaurants.
Playa Jeremi 10 minuten
Bezoek deze smalle, pittoreske baai laat op de dag, wat rondhangen om de zonsondergang te zien, wanneer je het heldere water ten volle kunt waarderen zonder het gebrek aan schaduw te vergeten.
Er zijn geen voorzieningen dus zorg ervoor dat je je eigen eten en drinken meeneemt.
Grote Knip 10 minuten
Kenepa Grandi. Also known as Grote Knip.
Grote Knip is known for the white sandy beaches with beautiful crystal clear blue waters and gorgeous vista overlooking the beach. It's very popular with the Curacaoan's themselves. Knip Beach lets you swim and sunbathe in one of the most beautiful surroundings on Curaçao.
Kleine Knip 10 minuten
Kenepa Chiki, the smaller more intimate beach. Also known as Kleine Knip. It is pretty isolated and there is only one road which leads to the beach. Kleine Knip is best known for it's snorkeling hotspots along the coast line.
Blend in with the the local population at this beautiful but small beach. This is where you will find Curaçaoan families spend the whole day playing, swimming and even have their barbecue.
Playa Lagun 12 minutes
This is hands down one of the most ‘grammable beaches on the island, with pastel-colored fishing boats dotting the shoreline from early morning until dusk. The water is shallow and crystal clear, making it an ideal place to spot marine life just below the surface.
Cas Abou 30 minutes
Cas Abao Beach offers you a white sandy beach, crystal clear waters, waving palm trees and many parasols. Cas Abao is ideal for swimmers, and its reefs a paradise for snorkelers and scuba divers. A raft for sunbathing and playing is moored off the beach. There is a bar, restaurant, showers, toilets, massage facility and dive shop.
Porto Marie 30 minutes
Playa Porto Mari is a beautiful sandy bay to be found on the private estate of Plantages
"Porto Mari" on the west coast. Its white coral sand beach, with clear and calm water, is a true paradise for water lovers.
You also might get to meet some pigs and iguanas that frequent the area.
4 Beaches of San Juan 30 minutes
Four beaches can be accessed from a single entry point near the northern town of Soto. At the former Landhuis of San Juan, you’ll be asked to pay a small entry fee before continuing along a set of dirt paths that lead to the sea. It’s up to you which path you take. It's a beautiful and gorgeous break from the busier beaches of the island and a great place to just be one with nature. There are no facilities, so if you want to stay longer you have to bring your own food and drinks.
